The thematic national epidemic presents the classic symptoms of calamitous and counterfactual ideation impactfully leading to the widespread support of patently inappropriate political leadership, demagogically hawking tactically attractive, but bogus pollyannaish representations. Worrisomely, the extent of the outbreak of this disease has attained a veritable pandemic level. Its cause appears to manifest the debilitating absence of the salubrious benefits of empirical and scholastic enlightenment and informed human experience. Its chronic toxicity is observable by a shameless dearth of knowledge based upon eschewing the human capacity to learn, and consequently acquiring useful, and salubrious rationality. Its identified symptoms include preternatural ignorance and ubiquitous bigotry, notably causative of sophomoric and reductive judgment, and an overriding sense of grievance; the latter trait manifested by generalized, defensive hostility. A symptomology is identified by its trademark vulnerability to pernicious demagoguery urging purported panaceas for ubiquitously felt grievance.

Recent developments have exhibited the deleterious impact of this toxic malady on a catastrophic national level, We specifically refer to the re-election of the empirically proven disastrous and ill-fated Presidency of Donald Trump, accompanied by his announced menagerie of morally flawed and incompetent choices for his impactful Presidential Cabinet.

It would seem relevantly appropriate to once more, refer to the admonition of “Founder” (and later President), Thomas Jefferson, to the effect that a democracy can survive only if it has an educated and informed population. The latter declaration has proven to be prescient and disturbingly relevant to our described contemporaneous human pandemic

It is b beyond cavil that the election and re-election of a proven execrable person such as Donald J. Trump ), is symptomatically demonstrative of the present day, thematic “pandemic” evincing inadequately educated and poorly informed populist citizens, In a Democratic-Republicgovernment, definitionally and constitutionally reflective of the democratic standard of “one man, one vote,” the existence of a substantial population of such citizens portends great danger. It is disappointing, but existentially necessary to accept the sad fact that our National population is inclusive of a large, often determinative, population of such populist citizens. To ensure the traditional values and historical record of our American Nation, while simultaneously, manifesting the constitutional standard of equity, a cure needs to be devised, which, like a relevantly effective vaccine against the pandemic outbreak of a virus, will be an effective deterrent to disaster.

In earlier writings, we have suggested a pragmatic cure; one that would permanently prevent populist demagogues and other species of inappropriate miscreants from attaining America’s highest office. We have been mystified by its absence throughout our Nation’s history. The method would make impossible the ultimate election of highly undesirable candidates for Presidential office. Simply expressed, our proposed solution would be to officially, and fairly, vet all proposed candidates for the American Presidency, thus filtering out the empirical possibility of a malefactor, or otherwise, categorically objectionable aspirant for the “finger on the nuclear trigger” position. The approved and presented choices for election, despite diverse political beliefs, would not fail to represent, at the least, the universally acceptable societal and professional standards, appropriate to the high office.

This basic conception would ethically require the creative selection of an examining committee of diverse-minded people, perhaps, academics, political bi-partisan members, and other capable people; but such a task is far less troublesome than suffering a President who is an existential menace to democracy and to the Nation. The pragmatic elimination of patently objectionable aspirants for the Oval Office is identifiable as a responsible and fiduciary obligation.

We have long been puzzled why an applicant for mundane employment, such as a department store salesman or a bank clerk is required to undergo a prior employment interview, but not the august and historically impactful job of American President.

Over the four to five years of history of this blog space, we have stressed the indispensably important role of life-enhancing self-examination, development, and maintenance of a consistent and referable self-image, and, as an addition, the nurturance of an elective (i,e,, unrelated to family or work) activity to buttress our personalized perception of life. In our perception, the benefits of a personalized feeling of self-fulfillment, rather than a public demonstration of the accumulation of assets, leads, ultimately to the self-recognition of a fulfilled life. It is notably in the mind,, that we live and perceive the World. The contemplative individual has the aptitude for internal resolve and optimistic patience.

The choice exists regarding the contrary options of, sitting in our easy chair accompanied by the uncomfortable emotional sense of anxiety and impending doom or, by emotional contrast, internally voyaging to the salubrious and pleasant conception of deferral of the concern to our developed interest in books, the arts, science, and personally developed crafts, as a limited sample of a temporal oasis engendered by pleasant distraction. Such universally available techniques of temporal deferment of concern are more salubrious and useful than uncomfortable, entirely useless rumination and self-pity.

With the assistance of such temporally needed, pleasant diversions from the disappointing political scene, coupled with persistent maintenance of optimism and support of the fundamental undertakings of our Democratic Republic and sincere optimism for the not-too-distant future, the traditional American citizen can internally travel to his temporally needed oasis, viz., his elected voyage to his inner space, whenever personally required,.

Trump’s degenerating egoistic ignorance has been irrefutably exhibited in his bold and irrational public statements of his grandiose intentions, reflective of his psychotic, delusional self-intoxication, as the sitting President, to direct the seizure of certain, specified independent nations, deprive them of their independent sovereignty and (by force, if necessary,) render them territories owned by or, incorporated into the United States. Apart from the absurdity of such delusional hype, such untenable aspirations would, inarguably, be unsuitably illegal, immoral, and historically inappropriate; most especially, for a Nation that historically and courageously exalted its sovereignty over domination from England. The empirically discernable fingerprints of toxic insanity are, inarguably, identifiable.

The American Nation (including MAGA citizens) is at present candidly and protectively, obliged to recognize as its leader one suffering from such a notable degree of delusional ideation as to have declared to our Nation of liberty-loving, democratic, and peaceful citizens, his ardent intention to effect the following distorted, illegal and hopelessly Quixotic goals:

(1) To revoke the Panama Canal Treaty and seize the internationally vital canal for the United States, by military force if necessary,

Viewers of the mundane and uneventful constitutional proceeding in which Vice-President Kamila Harris, dutifully and appropriately, acknowledged the electoral victory of Donald J. Trump and enunciated the hand-over of the Presidency to him, were undoubtedly impressed with the dignified sanctity of the official constitutional proceeding. There is little doubt that they were at least, for the moment, reassured about its demonstration of historically constitutional. observance and propriety.

Trump’s delusionally false statement that the “Biden transition was difficult,” was rational to the same degree as the pronouncements of Lewis Carrol’s “Mad Hatter.” In light of Trump’s previous election denial and promotion of an unprecedented bloody insurrection, based on his false declaration that the 2020 election was “stolen” by Biden, we are credibly encouraged to upgrade our diagnosis of the orange autocrat from simply a practitioner of serial mendacity to the more likely diagnosis of schizophrenia. Does this self-possessed monomaniac expect that the infamy of his earlier election denial and overt promotion of a violent and bloody insurrection against the Capitol Building has been, in some Manchurian Candidate fashion, erased from America’s memory? The latest example of Donald J. Trump’s mental stte confirms our belief that more is exemplified than merely an additional example of his ubiquitous prevarication. We will leave further diagnosis to the professionally trained experts.

This practitioner of serial mendacity and infamous promoter of “alternate facts,” productive conspiracy machine, with a publically known record of aberrant behavior, inclusive of sexual abuse, defamation, disloyalty to family and country, dedicated bigot, prescriber of bathroom cleanser and veterinary horse wormer for the cure and prevention of covid-19, launched a hyperactive critique of the advice and persona, one of the Nation’s premier medical experts on infectious diseases, as well as recommended the prosecution of that dedicated scientist and medical expert?

How do the human standards of morality and mature responsibility stand up to a mentality that purloins top-secret governmental documents and hides them in the bathroom of his Florida resort, thereafter refusing to return them to the FBI? What can be imagined about the persona of a grandson of an immigrant to the United States, who, in his three marriages, weds three immigrant wives yet, defames, in absentia,, all immigrants as “caravans of, rapists and criminals” in this Nation, composed principally of immigrants and their progeny and avidly strives to eliminate the statutory legality and the demonstrated (Statue of Liberty Emily-Lazarus) invitation to the needy foreigner? Can we ignore that this serially bigoted xenophobic defamer has to date, himself been convicted of no less than 34 felonies and has been judicially declared a sex abuser? These empirical facts reveal fundamentally a far greater hazard to the Nation than simple personal peccadillos.

No illegal insurrection is required to appropriately remove Donald J. Trump from the office of the Presidency. The long overdue application of Article 25 of the United States Constitution, providing that a President may be appropriately and legally removed from office for disability would seem, not merely appropriate, but existentially necessary. In the salutary interest of the welfare and safety of the Nation (and the World), action should be prudently undertaken under Art. 25 based upon the plethora of publicly revealed symptoms of disabling mental illness which he has copiously evidenced to the Nation and the World.

Traditional nightmares occur at nightime and are frightening or disturbing dreams eliciting strong emotions, such as fear, anxiety, or stress. The sleeper usually awakens startingly from his negative REM sleep experience with but brief memory of its content.

Our presented, nuanced and contextual nightmare, by contrast, similarly exists as a disturbing experience, but is experienced, in a morfe extensive manner during the daylight hours and, unfortunately, not instantly relieved by an emotionally protective “ejection seat.”.It is also notable because it is mutually shared by most mainstream, traditional Americans. We cannot resist violating the usual procedural standards of the stereotypical “blog” form, by, in advance, infuriatingly posing the following dubious and singular question: “What rational principle is there that might conceivably justify an American President to grant a full pardon to criminals charged and convicted for the perpetration of crimes in which he was factually complicit; indeed, the sponsor? This query alone would be a bizarre basis for a nightmare.

A bird’s eye view of the etiology of the horror, reveals the following factual scenario: Trump lost the 2020 presidential election to Joseph Biden. Consistent with his egocentric mindset, he neurotically declared his loss ipso facto fallible. Contrary to the officially audited facts, Trump obstinately refused to accept the result and tactically declared to his loyal (underbelly of) populist supporters that “The election was stolen.”

Trump tactically succeeded in inciting the Nation’s large population of its populist, poorly informed supporters to revolt, who compliantly and illegally, enacted the violent and shameful January 6, 2021 insurrection (effectively, Trump’s attempt at a self-coup). Trump, with the advice of several loyal miscreants as his political advisors, employed Machiavellian tactics, political and judicial, to delay and thereafter escape, well=-deserved criminal incarceration for his inarguable role as promoter and supporter of the revolutionary act; however, many participant rioters were convicted and jailed.

Notwithstanding the admitted promotion of the unprecedented and egregious, insurrection, Trump managed by political tactics to avoid appropriate punishment for his incitement of the horrendous crime (as well as many crimes for which he was also indicted) and was, unpredictably successful in the 2024 Presidential election, (this time, revealingly, not choosing to evoke any claim of “”stolen election”). Thereafter, Trump publically declared his intention, following the inauguration, to pardon the vicious gang of criminal insurgents for their crimes regarding which he was not only complicit but, perforce, was the sponsor This bizarre farce, standing alone, would suffice to evoke nightmares.

Trump has also publically and frighteningly, declared his intention to be a “dictator” and wreak vengeance upon his political detractors, thus aggravating and deepening the severity and predictable endurance of the contextual nightmare,

However painful, the extensive nightmare that unceasingly continues to trouble the sleep of traditional, mainstream American citizens. is yet further exacerbated by his perverse selection of Cabinet Secretaries and Officials, who would assist in the declared implementation of Trump’s fascist plan of retribution against his political detractors.

The extensive depth of America’s living nightmare is deepened by the additional trauma invoked by the nature of Trump’s announced future cabinet; a bizarre circus of incapable, inexperienced carnival of sideshow show horribles, all possessing as mandatory the sole merit of being a Trump supporter. This segment of the daytime nightmare includes pathological alcoholics, sex traffickers, confidants of America’s autocratic enemies, a conspiracy wonk and opponent of scientifically proven, modern methods of health, a proudly announced animal murderer, Christian White Supremacists, as well as agents sworn to faithfully implement Trump’s Nazi-style threats of retribution against his political opponents, tax officials who are lobbyists for billionaires, and most ominous, unscrupulous law enforcers.

Until relatively recent times, the rights of )married women were legally considered to be a “merger” with the husband who singularly had legal and contractual significance (“couvert”). It was not until 1920 that women were granted the constitutional right to vote As late as 1960, women were permitted to use birth control pills to limit the size of their family. In 1966, ” The Equal Pay Act was passed, in 1964, during the Presidential term of Lyndon Johnson The Civil Rights Act was enacted, in 1972, Title 9 was passed granting women equality of rights under the Educational System, and in 1933 SCOTUS determined Roe v, Wade. affirming the private right of women to elect an abortion.. Contention, over their specific application, has been an accompanying feature relative to such entitlements to date. Tragically, Roe v, Wade has been overruled by the atavistic and partisan SCOTUS.. The latter event has resulted in misery and death and a special revelation of the tragic and costly roulette wheel.

Of all the grossly unjust, and worldwide, ubiquitously (socially or legislatively) male assertions of superiority, enforced by the English-American Common Law and religion (especially manifested in the Middle East), the most irrefutably egregious of all is said proscription of women’s rights to an abortion. It requires no argument to declare that concerning childbirth it is the woman who, singularly and exclusively bears the associated pain and mortal danger. Throughout medical history, the incidence of abnormal pregnancy and childbirth occurred only too often. The religious “sin merchants” are neurotically attracted to guilt and punishment, akin to horseflies to sticky paper; an attraction that dynamically overrides true morality and empathy. We cannot conceive of any rational principle that would legally deny women this existential right, except pernicious and atavistic male dominance; also, bizarrely, supported by many overly compliant and possibly dominated women.

The undeniable incidents of suffering resulting from the abortion ban, furnish empirical and bloody proof of the danger of being haplessly victimized by the vagaries of chromosomal roulette.

Nazi-fashion vengeance (“retribution”) on his political adversaries; a head of government intelligence who has demonstrated her support of Vladimir Putin and the newly ousted, Syrian tyrant, Assad; a Secretary of Health and Human Resources with paranoid conspiracy ideations, who. ominously, seeks to eliminate medically vital vaccination programs (polio, flu, Covid, measles, mumps, diphtheria, smallpox, and other mortal, but preventable diseases) who has, interestingly and troublesomly revealed the exotic presence of a worm in his brain, and who admits to bizarrely depositing a dead bear in New York’s Central Park; A Secretary of Defense, the overseer of the entire range of the Nation’s Armed Forces and the Pentagon, who is a publicly displayed sloppy alcoholic, sexual offender, and, ominously, whose body is revealingly covered with large tattoos supporting White Cristian Nationalalism; as proposed head of the FBI, a Trump acolyte, who is sympathetically compliant with Trump’s Nazi-style dedication to wreak retribution against his critics, civilian and governmental, most particularly Congressional members of the appointed Committee to investigate his despicable attempt at National Insurrection; a Homeland Security Secretary, who, is personified by her incapacity, lack of experience, her support of the orange autocrat, and, who famously, shot and killed her 14 month old puppy, in a ditch because he was, in her explnatory words, a “slow learner;” an Immigration Czar who will deport millions of immigrant families legal and unregistered alike. The balance of his cabinet picks is blessed with similar egregious characteristics,

Trump’s notoriously erratic and inappropriate selection of synchronic cronies for the proposed Presidential Cabinet, like the eccentric and preposterous designator, himself, will predictably collapse and render useless Trump’s Babel-like) construction and be quickly and appropriately succeeded in keeping with the permanency of structural principle, suitable to a Nation enduringly dedicated to Republican Democracy.

It has been an enduring tradition for many individuals to make, “New Year Resolutions,” in which they “resolve” to alter a perceived undesirable trait or behavior or to accomplish a positive goal., Such resolve is predictably related to personal behaviors, viz., fitness, travel, reading more books, dieting, regular exercise, spending more time with children and family or drinking or smoking less,

For those who perennially undertake (and usually, fail at) such mundane and personally vaunted goals, we would emphatically suggest the responsible enhancement of the nature of one’s resolve to attain the level of communally, as opposed to personally impactful matters. Eating fewer chocolates, for example, may be a personally imperative goal, however, aspirations such for World peace and brotherhood, enduring principles of good citizenship, the health of our democratic polity, and the peaceful and just resolution of disputes, domestic and international, are matters, less reductively selfish and more appropriately circumspect.

The thoughtful, mainstream American citizen, has, indeed, much impetus for intrinsically more impactful grounds of apprehension than his possible overindulgence in chocolates, overeating, and lack of recommended exercise, to wit, the endurance of his Democratic Republic, the World recognized avatar of liberty and freedom of expression. The exemplary Nation is subject to an empirical threat from an unprecedented, democratically elected, but declared (and empirically proven) autocrat, cheered on by a frighteningly assertive and substantial populist cult. Considering the Founders’ radical experiment in democratic government, which succeeded in existence for almost two centuries, empirically demonstrating progress toward universal equality at mortal risk, what can possibly be the depth of persona of any citizen whose cogent aspiration is to play better golf, spend less on liquor, or increase his physical exercise.

To the conceivable extent that the thematic practice of making traditional New Year Resolutions has any useful significance, it has the pragmatic potential to anecdotally reflect the level of temporally existing depth and degree of mature perception of the individual maker.
