Blogpost # M. 279 DEFERRED DIAGNOSIS (redux)

We have long contended that the bizarre, megalomaniacal behavior of Donald J. Trump is more comprehensively understood in an appropriate clinical context, rather than as an instance of perniciously nuanced persona. Our declaration is not, to any degree, intended as mitigation, but rather is advanced to facilitate an accurate clinical perception of his nature and disposition.

In our view, it is facile and erroneous to facily perceive his singularly outrageous persona as simply “irreverent,” “improper,” or ” inappropriate.” By contextual analogy, the fictional tale “The Emperor’s New Clothes” does not merely concern a witless sovereign, but one who is so delusionally demented that he can proudly parade naked before his subjects under the mad delusion that he is fully dressed in newly made royal trappings.

Donald Trump’s “Mad Hatter” behavior and his recurrent bizarre declarations go far beyond the permissible bounds of empirical nuance and, notably, are revelatory of a clinical inability to perceive reality in place of his clinically delusional mania. For starters, what sane candidate in a democratic, American Presidential election would publicly declare his intention to be a dictator? Even worse than such inappropriate and bizarre admission (and his unexpected success) are his earnest efforts to destroy the constitutional underpinnings of our Nation, and to rule as an autocrat.

It requires no special skill in observation to reach the all-too-apparent conclusion solely that Donald Trump is systemically enclosed in an all-encompassing, impenetrable bubble, such that empirical reality is reducible to his delusional concern as to whether he will be adjudged a “winner” or a “loser.”

At an official visit to the Arlington National Cemetery, he publically consigned the hundreds of deceased soldiers, who bravely and self-effacingly, gave their lives for the Nation, to the role of “suckers” and “losers.” His delusional lack of reality orientation was further demonstrated by his next, clinically discernible question, “What was in it for them?” The significance of these egregiously articulated public statements is empirically consistent, with the unabashed expostulations and skewed underpinnings of his quotidian declarations of “fact” and intention.

Trump has evinced a hubris-driven appetite for solid gold bathrooms, in the context of a nationally challenged economy, and has shamelessly accepted inappropriate and clearly unconstitutional gifts (bribes) from foreign autocratic countries. He has effectively downgraded the Nation’s historically venerated White House to a shopping mall, shamelessly hawking retail items such as red insignia baseball hats, golden sneakers, Bibles, steaks, colognes, vodka, and more recently, “meme” colns with replications of his smugly posed, majestic, Caesar-like visage.

This living caricature of the American Presidency has, in exchange for (tactically given) praise has befriended Western Civilization’s historic enemies, has accepted bribes, including a super-sized, multi-million dollar, jet-powered airplane from a Middle Eastern Nation, defrauded democratic Ukraine, by the ultimate denial of existentially needed military arms to the besieged Ukraine, in the interest of his bro-mance with the Russian autocratic aggressor, Putin. Inconsistent with the historic American context as the World’s avatar of democratic polity, he has publicly supported autocratic tyrants such as Putin, Kim Jong-un, Viktor Orban, and Nicholas Maduro.

The “Mad Hatter,” delusional character of Donald Trump is ubiquitously and inarguably demonstrated by his insane demand to unilaterally convert our sovereign neighbor, Canada, to an included State in our American Union, his announced intention to aggressively acquire Denmark’s ownership of Greenland, and, sophomorically to change the accepted geographic name of the “Gulf of Panama” to the “Gulf of America.” These egoistic aspirations are diagnostic symptoms of mental illness.

If necessary, our contextually observed diagnosis is buttressed by consideration of his inappropriate disparagement of the existentially vital peacekeeping, viz., NATO, his ignorant imposition of high tariffs on our trading partners, and his irrational destruction of the Nation’s health protective agencies. Trump has eliminated food and medical relief, domestically, by eliminating the SNAP program and reducing the Nation’s Health research agencies, as well as, internationally, by eliminating USAID, which empathically and diplomatically, provides food and medicine to needy nations; Trump has irrationally crippled the Nation’s Medicare and Medicad and Social Security systems while simultaneously enriching himself and performing his solely capable talents in the use of his hubristic gold bathrooms.

It would require a far more expansive writing to encyclopediacly relate Trump’s full plethora of clinically irrational and often hazardous behavior, such as the illegal and treasonous p;urloining of governmental top secret documents, insanely stored in a publicly accessible bathroom of Mar-A-Lago, his ego-delusional election denial and fomenting of a violent insurrection against his Nation’s Capitol, his recommended ingestion of of bathroom solvent as his solicitious cure during the pandemic, his illegal and anti-societal behavior as legally adjudged by 34 jury criminal convictions and a veritable, plethora of criminal indictments, frozen in place solely becaus his election, his Court adjudicated status as a sexual predator, a tax chiet and a defamer. To add some icing to the cake of his undeniable insanity, the illustrious Chief Executive has been supportive of the treasonous, anti-democratic, White Christian Nationalist militias and has chosen to ubiquitously interfere with the Nation’s democratically definitional right to vote.

There are many more anecdotal symptoms of Trump’s mental aberration; our personal favorite is the singularly revealing instance when, in the context of a publicised televised news interview, he publicly mimicked a news reporter suffering from the painfully obvious symptoms of palsy. This egregious performance may, in our view, exceed the full dumpster of Trump’s exotic behavior.

We are fully in accord with the observation of mainstream citizens to the effect that Trump’s bizarre persona is singularly inappropriate to an American President; however, it is our specific opinion that the etiology has inarguably been shown to be diagnosably clinical.
