Blogpost # M.270 TRAVELS TO INNERSPACE

In bright contrast to the challenging physical and mental qualities, uniquely requisite for travel to “Outer Space,” travel to “Innerspace,” conceivably, to its most far-flung territories, requires merely, an elder traveler, evincing somef degree of age-related ambulatory impairment, together with an active, healthy and contemplative mind; and for the innerspace travel vehicle, a comfortable (reclining) chair and optionally, a beverage of personal choice.

The most successful and fulfilling voyages are made by such elder travelers, in possession of a healthy memory and mature, analytic perception, the same, empirically developed during their lifetime. There is no prerequisite, specialized training, no independent physical and mental testing, technical equipment, or specifically needed supplies such as a breathing apparatus, pressurized outer garment, or concentrated food; nevertheless, the optional inclusion of a personally elected beverage is not principally discouraged.

Reprised memories allow for a temporal review of significant events, previously perceived as impactful, which, on this later contemplation, in the intimate context of innerspace, are now deemed relatively inconsequential. A retroactive reprise renders [perceptive value to the elemental understanding of the dynamics of the inner space traveler’s lifetime of personal development of independent self-realization and, with the exercise of leasurely hindsight, a more analytical understanding of past experience; sometimes with a comfortable recollection of its temporal dynamics, at other times, with judgmental criticism or remorse. To have determinative value, the evaluation of past behavior and feelings through of inner space travel must equitably consider the totality of relevant facts, inclusive of an objective consideration of empirically impactful, temporal inexperience. Kindness, understanding, and occasionally, a relevantly sincere and mature effort at self-forgiveness are appropriate as equitable ingredients in such retrospective ventures.

Easy chair voyages to innerspace are beneficially revealing and enlightening in the reprised contemplation of events, public and personal, rationally accompanied by temporally detached analysis. The ultimate empirical devolution of significant events, political as well as personal, as compared with one’s earlier anticipation, offers great value regarding the voyager’s perspective and depth of self-knowledge.

Innerspace travel can also be joyful and entertaining, or saddening and remorseful, but universally reliant, utilitarian, and personally informative. Unresolved dilemmas are empirically solved, individual persona and previously existing sub rosa intentions of others are revealed, and the inner-space traveller with, adequate analytical capability is, at long last, provided with the (often subjective) satisfying answer.

We have often declared the proposition that “old age is not a disease” the latter fact, having universal reference to the inherent potential for the elder, thoughtful individual to recollect and objectively consider a lifetime of empirical thought and experience by his later observation or ultimateconclusion, relative to his personal performance in life and, girded about, or, alternatively, gratified, by such beneficial understanding and the resultant acquisition of a rationally, more objectivised perspective of his younger life experience.

Re-entry after the successful conclusion of the typical inner space mission, or “splashdown,” is remarkably simple; one returns his reclining seat to upright, clicks off the soft light of the reading lamp, and, contentedly, places his empty beverage glass in the dishwasher.
