The President-Elect, his MAGA loyalists, and others have advocated and supported all manner of legislation and governmental policies to deter immigration, despite our Nation’s generous history of empathy toward the World’s downtrodden and persecuted. The meaningful message of the world-iconic Statue of Liberty erected in New York’s East River stands as an empathic and generous invitation to the unfortunate people of the World to obtain needed refuge and a better life in our American nation; as stated in the beautiful and heartfelt verses by Emma Lazarus, permanently inscribed thereon. Like life-sustaining sweet floral nectar that attracts bees and butterflies, the attraction to freedom, safety, and a better life primarily exemplifies the goals of immigrants to our fortunate shores..
We have expressed our personal disapproval of those selfish and xenophobic bigots in our nation who oppose immigration, despite the inarguable awareness that the Nation is universally populated by immigrants and their descendants.
