The analogical reference to human physiology, often used by political scientists, “The Body Politic,” is useful to the theme and context of the present, writing. We have chosen that expression to refer to two, inarguably, useless but common reactions to presenting problems, of despair and avoidance, in time succeeded by a subsequent brief, but alarming episode making mandatory a startling recognition of the presenting anatomical problem. This analogically relevant phenomenon is often seen in incidents of mild heart discomfiture or the alarming occurrence of a minor stroke.
Until this decisive moment, mainstream American citizens were in a general mood of concerned resignation or, alternatively, an emotionally protective state of avoidance of recognition of the highly vulnerable state of our Nation’s venerated democracy brought about by the prodigious number of MAGA Trump cultists, evident in mainstream America where like reactions of hapless despair or emotionally protective avoidance were notable.
It appeared to be the public revelation of the blatantly fascistic content of the MAGA agenda for 2025, combined with Trump’s declarations of intention to rule as a dictator and his threats of “retribution” against his detractors, significantly aggravated by his selection of the apparent avatar of atavistic and dark ages mentality, T.J. Vance, that sounded the publically broadcasted “Code Blue” alarm that blared in our consciousness and that of a newly awakened and vitally and concerned unified mainstream America.
The patriotic and selfless withdrawal of candidacy for President by the patriotic President Joseph Biden set the stage for the candidacy of the younger and more youthfully energetic Vice-President, Kamala Harris who, in turn, wisely selected the publicly appealing Tim Walz as her running mate. The National reaction of the mainstream citizenry, as shown by the atmosphere of the thousands of participants of the Democratic National Convention, which had previously varied from hapless despair to emotionally protective avoidance, had visibly metamorphosed into a public sense of relief and newly awakened optimism,

The recent Democratic National Convention was seen by the wide television audience to evince a remarkable show of universal relief, joy, and optimism, regarding the continued endurance of our invaluable and unique democracy and the continuance of its aspirational progress towards universal and inclusive equality.
The predictable cure and full recovery to optimum health of our Democratic Republic (“body politic”) will take place next November, and be effectively administered by a full dose of responsible and informed vote of its right-thinking citizenry
