In one of his early writings, the classical (16th Century) French essayist, Montaigne observed that being a liar mandates a good memory. Presumably, the rationale is based upon the facile and ready reference to objectively referable truth, but the false declaration must be assiduously recalled in the interest of consistency.

Montaigne’s pragmatic declaration has singular application to our contemporary Head of State, whose many aberrative statements, singularly merit the attainment of an Olympic gold medal relative to the sport of serial mendacity. Donald Trump, inarguably qualifies as the protagonist in the wry response to the question, “How do you know when he is lying?” The answer: “When he is moving his lips.”

Montaigne’s statement was metaphysically insightful and is relevant today, as demonstrated by President Trump’s plethora of false promises and tactical undertakings in empirical confirmation of the justification for the above-referenced gold medal in mendacity. The orange Prevaricator-in-Chief has demagogically asserted his intention to promote efforts to improve and/or reform ubiquitous matters of current concern. To stay within the permissible dimensional bounds of the traditional “blog post,” we,complyinglyfurnish a representative, but not complete list: Lower prices and elimination of inflation, instant peace in Ukraine and Gaza, protect Social Security and Medicaid, improve relations with NATO and foreign countries, improve trade relations with foreign nations, and -Stamp out the politicization of government ( viz., fictional ideation of”Deep State”).

Trump’s actual performance has evinced a holocaust of deceitful non-performance, and, in fact a deprecation of such falsely made representations as would make appropriate, an empirically accurate reading of “MAGA” to now be, “Make Americans ‘Grate’ Again! “

In sum, prices and inflation have increased, employment has plummeted, the latter in part due to the wrecking ball Trump and his exotic menagerie of “Muskrats” have illegally taken to demolish needed governmental agencies, such as social security and Medicaid, as well as his curtailment of medical research, politicization of governmental law enforcement and intelligence agencies so that opponents of Donald Trump have been designated for criminal prosecution, relations, deterioration  of America’s international political and trade relationships, threats to social security and Medicaid and, predictably, no peace has been attained in Ukraine or Gaza.

In a later essay, Montaigne warns against people who “out of private obligation,” (personal interest) espouse an unworthy Monarch above the public interest. In the five centuries since Montaigne, history shows that the players and scenery have changed, but, unlike the stereotypical prevaricator, the drama has been eternally consistent.

Many credible explanations have been presented concerning the etiology of the present dystopic state of our Republican Democracy. One cogent proposition is the irresponsible and inadequately justified decision by the Supreme Court in the Taxpayer’s Union case, eliminating limitations on corporate political contributions. The latter, ruling, significantly aggravated the threat to democracy already posed by the eternally undemocratic influence of money. Other attributed causes, social and political, have been proposed as empirically causative. However, Insufficient attention has been paid to populist apathy and detachment from matters of relevant principle in favor of those offering reductively perceived as specifically relevant in their mundane experience or those promising superficial diversion.

Our hierarchy of precipitant causes of the presenting, pathology suffered by our body politic is predominated by the uninformed, lassisitude of many self-indulgent citizens more concerned with matter so ethereal as an athelete crossing a designated white line and scoring a “touchdown” or the successful drive of a hockey puck or a soccor ball into a net. The most profound deliberation by much of our population, disappointingly, is that expended in the purchase of an automobile.

The late, brilliantly lyrical holocaust survivor, Elie Weisel, on an analogous subject, said, “The opposite of love is not hate, it is indifference.” The mainstream American citizen has empirically and painfully learned that the most formidable threat to our Democratic Republic is not foreign espionage but National disinterest and its consequence of disaffected vulnerability. We attribute the rise of Trump and the MAGA horde to the consequential failure engendered by smug and reductive assumptions by many thoughtless American citizens of an infinity of status quo of the singular, precious liberty and democracy in America.

The thoughtless perception of invulnerability thoughtlessly eschews all consideration of possible threat, aside, conceivably, from the remote possibility of an attack against our Nation. They precariously ignore the imminence of its eternally more possible domestic vulnerability. Discussions at backyard barbeques and coffee shops are more likely on the Superbowl, the World Series, or local real estate taxes and events, to the exclusion of matters of governmental or civic import. It is revealingly and embarrassingly instructive to recall that Donald Trump received his existential public notice as a host of a widely viewed, banal television game show.

It is notably obvious that there exists no vaccine for this widely metastasized and consequential pandemic of toxic indifference. We would reprise the prescient observation of one of our esteemed founders, Thomas Jefferson, that the success of a democracy is dependant upon an informed and concerned citizenry, thus, generously supplying us with the presented theme.

We, acknowledge the existence of several principal causes, of the present political dilemma, viz., money in politics, the moral decline of SCOTUS, the presence of an unhealthily large population of populist, underbelly and eternally aggrevied citizens, vulnerable to demagogic snake oil promises of retribution against society, the pathological polluting corporations interested in profits and disinterested in human health and the presence of adverse foreign inflence. However, it is our principal view that, bizarrely, little or nothing has been relevantly observed regarding the quality of our citizenry, the combustible raw material existential to the present conflagration.

It might be a relief to take another brief “time out” from the roadkill aesthetics of Trumpian politics and get to our preferred subject: words and their employment. This mini-essay is intended to be relevant to those judicious individuals who, creditably, still employ language rather than inexpressive digital exchange.

Employing language that effectively and satisfyingly expresses our thoughts requires the selection of appropriate vocabulary. Consistent with this tautologically basic principle, we have always suffered reservations about the ubiquitous reliance upon a thesaurus as a general source of meaningful expression. The thesaurus is a source of relevant synonyms but not a reliable guide to the writer’s intended expression. It is our experience that there are very few legitimately contextual synonyms, i.e., “hot” is not a valid synonym for “torrid.” The cup of tea or the bath water may be “hot,” whereas the exotic female dancer may be described with the adjectivial word, “torrid;” “sharp” may be colloquelly utilized to signify “aware,” or “intelligent.” but is equally utilitarian in the eval;uation of a freshly ground blade, Words may have ubiquitious application but may not be aesthetically accurate to convey a singular feeling or meaning. Effective communication mandates the selection of words that are validly expressive of the intended message.

As an illumination of our theme, we offer a representative sample of frequently heard words ubiquitiously used without consideration of their traditional meaning:

[“So”] is a word universally employed in television news media as a precursor to an interviewee’s response to a question posed by the show’s host. The accepted use of the word, nevertheless, connotes a resultant fact or action following a consequential event or statement. not a spoken predicate to a response. The inappropriate use of a verbally dynamic connection between cause and effect is bizarre and annoying.

[“Absolutely”] The use of this confident assertion of ultimate and metaphysical confirmation, is ludicrios overkill when employed in lieu of the simple “yes.”

[“No worries”] is a popular, non-contextual, inappropriate expression in an exotic represention of the simple response, “Thank you!” We find the misused, comforting expression confusing, as well as situationally inappropriate.

[“Cool”]: This word, acceptingly referencing the existence of low or moderate temperature, used as a populist expression of consent, or consonance, may be the most prevalent word in ourb populist lexicon. Such contextually exotic terms may be disconcerting to the uninitiated and ambiguously confusing.

[“Back in the day”]: A purportedly authoritative declaration about the past, with scant historic specification, but the general, inane reference, “Back in the day,” indicates a genuine lack of knowledge or, conceivably, an unwillingness to be usefully informative.

[“Dude”] This lazy, off-hand reference to a specific person is objectionable and notably revelatory of today’s unfortunate absence of individualized personality.

[“Chill out”] is an unfeeling, non-empathic recommendation to a person who is suffering or uncomfortably worried and is expressive of lack of empathic concern. Words of understanding would be more humanistic.

[“Whatever!”] This brash response to an opinion or statement is an egregious insult and an arrogantly unkind dismissive, usually uttered in a nuanced tone of annoyed impatience. The word’s appropriate meaning is quite the opposite; properly used, it is an affirmative and generous statement of a party’s free choice.

We are confident that the reader can cite other illustrative examples of such ubiquitously used jargon.

To be clear, we do not maintain that the use of such populist expressions is immoral or wrongful, but we do find them to constitute an unsuitable waste of opportunity to speak meaningfully in a personally nuanced fashion at a time in our societal history when personal conversation, unhappily, has become rare.

We have empirically confirmed the accuracy of our earlier perception of Donald Trump as an archaic, pre-octoginarian stereotype of a lifelong “infant terrible”; an insecure toddler who, despite the predictability of retributive punishment, kicks his mother in the shins to further his insatiable desire for personal attention.

It is empirically indisputable that the orange narcissus has never, in his neurotic 78 years of life, evinced any political or doctrinal sentiment. He has been dynamically and exclusively motivated by his preoccupation with himself, amounting to a neurotically insatiable desire for significance and adoration. Our observation seems to be an empirically satisfactory explanation for the etiology of his abnormal aberrant behavior. both socially and of far greater impact, politically. While it is rationally impossible to ascribe any philosophical or political motive underlying his aberrant, unsocietal, and amoral presentation, it is undeniably clear that his neurotic aspirations fuel his public perception of God-like significance and universal admiration. Sometimes, he doubtlessly perceives, you have to “kick shins’ to get there; by befriending notorious (but flattering) National enemies, inculcate and support a national insurrection or perversely declare to a Nation known for its singular and unprecedented democracy, his radical intent, if democratically elected, to be a “Dictator.”

It is truly ironic to be empirically driven to the conclusion that the complete absence of cognitive detection, in favor of his singularly neurotic drive for public adoration and independent significance, that fuels his erratic and rationally impulsive acts and his statements, all of which can be empirically and anologically deemed to have the motivation of a misbehaving child’s ( “un infant terrible”) constant qauest for universal notice and palpable significance.

It is our view that this perceptive understanding accounts for many of the disturbingly unsolvable dilemmas surrounding this erratic persona. His uniformity of action, evincing antisocial behavior and lack of societal morality, may be the flypaper to which our significantly large population of eternally dissatisfied underbelly populists adhere. The glaring impotence of the many able Republican members of Congress to act reasonably to prevent Trump from destroying our Democratic Republic may be explainable by their inability to comprehend Trump in his non-stereotypical role of partisan President, but, as a sui generis abnormality, dynamically analogous to performing actors on stage but without a script.

As expressed in our earlier writing, it is sophomoric and irrelevantly inappropriate to counter Trump with rationally engaging, responsible, and traditionally established argument, even to the extent of tautological reality. Such an ongoing contextual approach has been noticeably feckless and inapposite.

Donald Trump is a dangerous and hazardous anomaly to the existence of our uniquely rational and just American aspirations and way of life, This dilemma is a notable affirmation of our often expressed recommendation that all Presidential Candidates (like applicants for mundane employment), as a prerequisite to run for the highest and most consequential office in the World, be thoroughly vetted by an appropriately designated procedure.

Because of its singular significance, the regular bi-monthly meeting of the Wistful Vista Virtue Ass’n, LLC, was not, as usual, convened at the local High School gym but in the intimate and ornate living room of its longtime President, Elvira T. Swine. Its loyal members were in full attendance at this Special Meeting, which, as is customary, included its Recording Secretary, Romona Sue Epicac, and its Spiritual Adviser, Rev. Yono Say, of Wistful Vista’s ” Church of Blind Faith.”

It may be recalled that the dedicated censorship group was the recent recipient of an Certificated of Honor honored, from the National Censors and Bookburner’s Association, for its dedicated watchdog efforts regarding the WistfulVista Public Library, successfully eliminating lewd and lascivious literature such as, “Huckelberry Finn,” “Wuthering Heights,” “Puss in Boots,” Uncle Tom’s Cabin and “Gone with the Wind.” The organization had, in fact, been so idealistically dedicated to their duty to enforce proper standards of religious and political morality as, to its credit, eliminated no less than fifty percent of the inventory of books of the public library to proudly, evince entirely bare, but inargubly inoffensive bookshelves.

Ms. Imogene passionately pleaded for the comprehensive moral scrutiny of all publically accessible menus from the local area’s restaurants, diners, and “Mom-and-Pop” coffee shops.

We related our analogical extension of this physical theory to he conception of the perverse, destructive “wrecking ball” being employed by Donald J. Trump to savage and destroy America’s traditionally democratic institutions and way of life. By such analogy, the predictable backswing of the instrument of demolition, as evidenced by the many protests at Town Halls, the recently rteported plethora of judicial determinations, blocking much of Trumo’s autocratic mischief and, as stated in an earlier writing, engendering a growing, “Buyer’s Remorse” (# M.228).

It is our view that a significant reversal of sentiment (“reaction”) will predictably evolve (if not already extant) from the MAGA, loyalist and reductionist sentiment to a foundationally based concern relative to Trump’s favorable policies toward Russia’s Putin, notably adverse, to the American Nation and to their derivative identity and interest as American citizens.

The ubiquitous feelings of patriotism and personal loyalty to our American Nation have historically overridden the varied confluence of human societal (non-familial) loyalties. We have written of the dedicated actions of the American citizens in support of our military during times of war. Such willing, supportive action by the American citizenry during the Second World War was signified by the many schoolchildren, eschewing play to dedicatedly collect,, in their small wagons needed materials such as rubber and iron for the American War effort. Adults volunteered their free time as Air Raid Wardens, purchased “War Bonds,” and made contributions to the USO despite times of hard-to-get money. Political, religious, and ethnic sentiments of diversity, by ubiquitious patriotic sentiment, became clearly subservient to the defense of our Democratic Nation against the aggressive and threatening fascist enemies.

In sync with the experience of American history, we confidently await the exercise of a marked negative response (a Newtonian “reaction”) impellked by America’s systemic instinct to personally value national identity ahead of temporal political sentiment and affirmatively object to the present pro-Russia (Putin) schemata of Donald Trump and, ultimately, his deceitful MAGA trope [which, in truth, should empircally stand for the factual meme, “Make America Autocratic Again.”]

In less dystopic times, it would be difficult to sell a movie script whose scenario featured a protagonist, successfully elected to the American presidency, despite numerous criminal indictments, inclusive of, sexual abuse, fraud, inciting an insurrection, bearing thirty-four felony convictions, who trashes the Constitution and the Rule of Law, undermines the doctrinal “Separation of Powers,” grossly violates the “Emolument Clause,” champions White Nationalist Supremacy organizations and actively opposes existential environmental efforts by withdrawing from the Paris Accords and propagating the noxious meme, “drill, baby drill, and further, who is an egomaniac, guilty of serial mendacity and the declaration to the citizens of the Dem0cratic Republic of his intent to be a “Dictator. Notwithstanding the above bizarrely accepted traits, Trump’s disloyalty to the Nation, we feel, will affirmatively produce the needed (Newtonian responsive) reaction of rejection.

Trump’s presidential campaign was officially proven to have been assisted by Russia, the American public has astonishingly witnessed Trump’s intimate affair with Russia’s tyrant, Putin, Trump’s secretive purloining of top-secret governmental documents, more recently, his schizophrenic declaration that Ukraine was the aggressor regarding the factually true, unprovoked Russian assault, his reduction of existential military equipment and monetary support for that beleaguered, wrongfully assaulted nation, his verbasl “mugging of it’s admirable, democratically elected President, Trump’s emasculating of America’s intelligence facilities, augmented by the selection of a Cabinet member in charge of intelligence who is an admirer of Putin, his emasculation of the CIA and the FBI, all point to Trump’;p disloyalty to our Nation; in favor of a perverse and traitorous alliance with our cold war enemy, Russia and its wiley, murderous head of State, Trump’s ionamorata, Vladymir Putin.

Notwithstanding the populist tolerance for Trump’s egregious amorality and egoistic incapability, we would predict that his demonstrated disloyalty to the American Nation will, at long last, produce the “reaction” of consummately appropriate rejection.

Mainstream America, with sufficient reason, finds itself in a state of fearful apprehension concerning the contemporaneous threat to the endurance of their cherished Democratic Republic. The election of an errant President who has declared his intention to be an autocratic “dictator” and has ubiquitously demonstrated the sincerity of his perverse ambition is an empirical source of dread. Donald Trump’s shocking denigration of the Constitution, lack of moral compass, and blatant, ubiquitous transgressions of the societal rule of law. his bosom friendship with Russia’s Vladymir, his declared, personal avatar of proper governance, Hungary’s tyrant, Viktor Orban, and stated admiration for the North Korean tyrant, Kim Jun Un, evince his dystopic criteria for appropriate governance.

Consistent with his brash declaration of intent to be a dictator, Donald J. Trump, in the first few weeks of his term, has taken tactical steps to undermine American democracy. As illustration is his selection of radically inappropriate, members of his Cabinet as demonstration, inclusive of the Bureaus of Intelligence, viz., the CIA, the FBI, the Secretaries of Defense, Interior, Foreign Relations, Homeland Security, Health, and the other official posts. None of the selected officials possesses a modicum of ability nor the functional experience requisite to their respective office but qualify by satisfying his mandatory requirement of unfailing loyalty.

Trump has unprecedentedly and bizarrely, wedded his elected office as America’s elected Chief of State to an unelected, quirky, billionaire, autistic-savant, to advise and assist as “hit man,” in his irrational delusion that the myriad, specialized federal agencies, together with with their large staffs of employees, ipso facto, represent governmental “waste and abuse.” He has taken irresponsible measures to eliminate them, despite their inarguable utility, domestic and international.

Consistent with such reductive and dystopic ideation, such delusional autocrat together with his unelected, impish, billionaire confederate, have taken steps to imasculate the Nation’s vitally important agencies, inclusive of Defense, and National Intelligence, Education and Medical research agencies, the Inspectors General and has quashed citizen -oriented protective regulations, pardoned seditious and criminally convicted insurrectionists, denounced all salutary environmental programs in favor of “drill, baby drill, taken steps to dismantle all governmental humanistic enterprises, foreign and domestic, such as USAID (the latter, providing urgently needed food and medicines to desperate nations such as Ethiopia) and has expressed his domestic intention to limit or extinguish America’s salutory Social Security and Medicaid programs. Additionally repugnant and pathological are his cruel policies regarding immigration, his articulated, gradiose and notably demented intention to annex the Sovereign Nation of Cansada, to acquire Denmark’s Greenland, retake Panama, and rename the Gulf of Mexico, the “Gulf of America.” Bewilderingly,. the mutually peace-assuring confederation with other peace-loving nations and NATO have been Trump-discombobulated. Trump’s love affair with the crafty Russian tyrant, Putin, has been further enhanced by Trump’s schizophrenic declaration that Ukraine invaded Russia. The American mainstream citizen has appropriate justification to perceive such policies and deludional ideations as destructive and entertain relevant feelings of sheer, primitive fright in response. The Orange delinquent executive is also hell-bent on ignorantly eliminating the Nation’s salutory public media.

Trump’s emphatic campaign promises included assurances of an improvement in the economy by the lowering of inflation and consumer prices and by increasing employment. None of these “snake oil” assurances have been realized, the inarguable result of his skewed policies. Indeed, notably negative results have been objectively noted. merely in the first weeks of his present term in office. Inflation and consumer prices have been elevated and predictably will be further inflated by his program of ill-advised tariffs. Employment statistics currently demonstrate an observable decline, predictably aggravated by Trump’s reductively ignorant elimination of established, utilitarian governmental agencies and thousands of their employees.

America needs, deserves, and, in fact, affirmatively has readily available a “Superhero” to rescue it from this hazardous National conundrum. Mainstream American citizens are eternally in possession of the contemplsative opportunity to obtain desperately needed relief from the contextual political conundrum. The relevant “Superhero” from whom such wisdom and consequent utilitarian relief may be obtained is the 18th-century polymath Isaac Newton, whose most famous declaration furnishes the needed assurance of relief in its societally, empirically, analogous contemplation.

Newton enlightened all humankind by his declaration that:”For every action, there is a respectively equivalent re-action.”

The arc of the Trump-MAGA institutional wrecking ball, visibly and destructively applied to the institutes and principles of our Democratic Republic, irrefutably carries with it the expressed Newtonian dynamic of an imminent return swing. By such stages thematic analogy, we have observed the Newtonian dynamic in its early, but predictable return swing at the recent outrage expressed st town hall meetings. the National media, objective judicial rulings, and the beginnings of a noticeable reaction, forsooth, on the part of selected MAGA Republicans and Members of Congress.

We confidently and happily look forward to the fruition and substantial impact by way of the dynamic and reactive backswing of the perverse, Orange wrecking ball.

It is our view that the decline in the salubrity of our body politic had its toxic advent in the case of Bush v. Gore in the year 2000. The latter, indesputably a political case, provided the etiology for the decline in principle of the United States Supreme Court (“SCOTUS”) in its constitutional role as the decisive arbiter of constitutional issues. between contending parties, individual, and governmental.

The foundationally mandated dynamic, as expressed in the constitutional strictures of “Separation of Powers,” pragmatically resulted in the denial of “Political” cases from consideration by SCOTUS. Appellants wishing to bring their cases before SCOTUS were required, as a procedural prerequisite, to file a “Motion for Certiorari,” successfully demonstrating to the High Court that no “political” issue or resulting political impact is directly or indirectly involved.

Once the prorective “gates” were opened, in Bush v. Gore, SCOTUS was then afforded the constitutionally inappropriate opportunity to express politically partisan power. The Presidential appointment of partisan Justices by Donald Trump portended a predictably tragic decline in the High Court’s objectivity in the determination of issues presented for determination. Subsequent jurisprudential history demonstrated the tragic end of the High Court’s previously deserved, venerated reputation in admirably pursuing its foundational purpose and existential constitutional responsibility.

The final death blow to the recognition of its constitutionally prescribed and proscribed authority was tragically dealt by the “Citizen’s United Case” (2010) which, purportedly, in the stated interest of “free speech”, eliminated the law on the limitastion of political contribution by corporations and thereby loosed the floodgates of corruption regarding the historic sanctity of fair and representative election’. The High Court’s) exotic and unprecedented decision (5 – 4), ruled that Corporations are “persons” and that no person can be constitutionally limited in, monetary donation, which would constitute a deprivation of “Free Speech.” Such a sophomoric justification inarguably constitutes convincing proof of its cynical motivation.

Every first-year law student and virtually every entrepreneur is well aware that the legal designation of “person” (since its advent in the Elizabethan era) does not invest “personhood” to the corporate entity but is eternally and universally, understood as a “legal fiction,” affording “Limited Liability” to the individual entrepreneur as an economic encouragement to individual enterprise,] It is historically notable, that failed business owners (“Debtors”) were imprisoned in Early English history; a famous example of which practiced, is the father of Charles Dickens.

Analogous to the existence of blameworthy parents who have the tendency to produce delinquent children, the transmogrification of the United States Supreme Court from a historically venerated and existential guardian of our constitutional democracy, to an instrument responsive to political and religious influence, furnished the proximate cause of our contemporaneous body politic’s “open wound” and an empirically cogent source of concern and frustration for the traditional mainstream American citizen.

It is timely and appropriate for inveterate believers in the Bible to update the apophycral account regarding Cain and Abel in the Book of Genesis. It now appears that \the unpredictable dynamics of Natural Evolution, has produced a singular species of Homo Sapiens, gifted with the franchise of invulnerability, The same appears to be universally applicable to any charge, or the consequences of retribution for miscreance. The newly evolved protective franchise, universally and unfailingly, shields such newly evolved species from any charges of criminality and consequent retribution, indeed, for the most heinous crime.

Anthropologists, to date, have been successful in their field observation of only one singular example of the new species, noting that the stereotypical members of the newly discovered mutation are identifiable by their unique orange-colored hair and bleary shifty eyes. The newly discovered mutational homo Sapiens has been gifted by evolutional nuance with the uniquely, convenient franchise of warding off retributive responsibility for commission of ubiquitous criminality, treason, tax fraud, bribery and extortion, sexual abuse, blatent violations of the Emolument Clause, defamation, official and public deceit, inciting insurrection against the government, election fraud, stealing and purlolining government top secret documents, election interference, violations of the Civil Rights Law, “paying-off” prostitutes for their silence, adultery, causing avoidable deaths of many thousands of American citizens by advisory malpractice during the covid pandemic, intentional defamation of political opponents exemplify many of his miscreant, illegal and unethical behavior, in and out of Presidential Office. His evolved “teflon” is so efficient and remarkable as to permit him, notwithstanding his criminal behavior, to be elected a second time. Among the plethora of criminality. invulnerability, his publically demonstrated acts of treason are the most empirically remarkable.

A brief comparable reference to two past, famous examples of prosecution and punishment for the heinous crime of treason may be useful in demonstrating the bizarre extent of Donald Trump’s inherited franchise of invulnerability.

The first example is the 1953 case, “United States v. Rosenberg.” In June of 1953, Julius Rosenberg and his wife, Ethel, were executed by electric chair for the crime of aspiring to give secrets about the A–bomb to an agent of the USSR during the Second World War. It is our information that the ill-considered act was motivated by their concerns, as Jews, during the Holocaust, and their desire that Russia destroy Germany, together with its death camps.

Our second example of prosecution for State treason is the well-known 1894 Dreyfus case. Captain Alfred Dreyfus was arrested and convicted for “selling information” to the German enemies of his Nation, France, and sentenced to life imprisonment. Fortunately, an eloquent intervention by the famous French author, Emil Zola, demonstrated his innocence, and Dreyfus was restored to his prior military rank. The prosecutor was shown to be an inveterate antisemite, and Alfred Dreyfus was Jewish. Nevertheless, the case, like the Rosenberg case and many others less known, is instructive as an illustration of the universal gravity of the crime of treason. [ We would prefer to believe that the fact that both the Fosenbergs and Alfred Dreyfus were Jewish does not distract the reader from our contextual point, viz., that “Treason” is a uniquely grave offense.]

One may relevantly look at the copious acts of undeniable treason (many were in public or publicized by the public media ) intentionally committed by the empirically invulnerable Donald J. Trump.

(a) Trump has publically demonstrated his admiration and affection for Russia’s autocratic tyrant, Putin; although Russia has been our dire enemy,

(b) It has been officially proven that Russia helped finance and promote Trump’s Presidential election,

(c) Despite Russia’s illegal and unprovoked aggressive attack on the Democratic Nation of Ukraine to the dismay and horror of NATO and the rest of the free World, Trump, nonetheless, has praised Putin, as a great leader, while often disparaging the victim of Russia’s aggression, Ukraine, and it democ critically elected President,

(d) Arranging a “peace treaty” dystopically omitting the representation of Ukraine,

(e) Unexplained stealing and refusing to return governmental top secret documents,

(f)Intentionally and tactically making America vulnerable to espionage and attack by his programmatic emasculation of America’s intelligence facilities, including the CIA, the NSA, and the FBI.

Trump’s invulnerability in the face of his intentional commission of the most venal crime, Treason, considered together with his copious felonies, criminal indictments, and judicial determinations of guilt, make ineluctable the aspirational nature of America’s emblematic representation: “Equality under the Law.”

We normally commute three or four days between our domicile on the Upper West Side of Manhattan and our country home in Kingston, New York. The trip is approximately two hours long, depending on traffic and weather conditions. Unlike the experience of tedious commutation to the office or some mundane venue, the northward drive to Kingston is not a dull albe necessary experience, but notably stimulating and thought-provoking.

The trip northward never fails to present a fascinating visual experience and unfailingly evokes musings concerning the seasonally changing beauty of Man’s verdant planetary home. We motor northward from the Palisades Parkway, situated above the dramatic Hudson River, throughout the entirety of the drive a copious gallery of trees (in all seasons), birds, on some occasions, deer (brown as well as gray mantled), and predatory hawks. in circular glides with the updrafts as well as other birds and small woodland critters. After proceeding for approximately an hour, we are treated to a view of nearby hills in various shades of verdancy, depending on the direction of the sunlight and the season, and soon thereafter, the gray appearance of distant mountains further northward.

As we venture further northward, we find ourselves in a species of reverence awe of the stark, colossal rock outcrops. through which, incredibly, the highway was, somehow, intruded; accompanying the balance of our automotive trek to New York State’s historic Capitol, the beautiful country ambience of Kingston.

The awe, beauty, and aesthetic pleasure derived from the weekly view of the natural environment is epitomized by the huge, dramatic rock outcrops seen on either side of the highway. We experience, in the contemplation of these mammoth natural phenomena more than their monumental size but, as well, enduring monuments to an autobiography of the Planet, but in conception, as the evincing some measure of relevant metaphysical comparisons the temporal the passage of human life.

Before the continuance of the preceding thematic comments, we would make some brief observations relative to the contextual rocks. Analogous to human beings, animal and plant life, rocks demonstrate an empirically natural diversity. Metamorphic rocks, by definition, are formed when existing rocks are transformed by heat and pressure; examples are marble and gneiss. Sedimentary rocks are formed from accumulated deposits of pre-existing earth materials, mud, rocks, and organisms, compacted by pressure, and evincing “strata. ” Examples are sandstone, shale, and limestone. Igneous rocks are formed from cooled v volcanic lava; examples are basalt and granite.

Of the natural compendium of rocks observed in our weekly two-hour commute, the most numerical, thematic and metaphysically stimulating are the huge, horizontally layered sedimentary variety. We imaginatively attempt to comprehend the enormity of time separating each of the many, uncountable layers of horizontal rock, the intervening development and evolution of our planet from pre-paleolithic to the stage of “Alexa” activated mechanical appliances.

The latter temporal perspective is of beneficial use in the emotional management of our personal angst generated by the contemporaneous and unprecedented governmental chaos that has descended upon our Democratic Republic.
